What you need to know about the change

We’ve taken the best of your trusted community bank, Capital Bank of Texas, and positioned it to better serve you as we continue to impact the people, businesses, and organizations in our communities through valued relationships, convenient solutions, and competitive products. This is community banking redefined.

Why is the bank changing its name?

Capital Bank of Texas changed ownership in 2021. Rest assured, this is the same community bank you know and trust. The new name and branding serve as a symbol of the commitment to provide competitive services and added convenience through technology, security, and additional locations. Will the bank’s branches remain open?

Yes! All branches will continue to remain open. You will continue to be greeted by the same friendly faces and great customer service. However, we will designate a new home office.

What is a “home office”?

Banks must designate a home office or headquarters per regulatory requirements. This change in the home office designation has no impact on our clients or how they conduct business with the bank. Instead, it simply identifies where the primary administrative functions are performed.

Will I need new checks?

No! You can use your Capital Bank of Texas checks until you run out. Future check orders will automatically update to PrimeBank of Texas. Additionally, your routing number will stay the same.

Will I need a new debit card?

No! You can continue to use your Capital Bank of Texas debit card until it expires or requires replacement. At that time, you will receive a Prime Bank of Texas-branded card.

Will there be a new website?

Yes! PrimeBank of Texas’ website will be accessible by visiting prime.bank (https://www.prime.bank). This new URL will be a dot-bank domain, not to be confused with a dot-com domain. This creates additional layers of security against cyberattacks helping to protect our customers against data breaches, identity theft, and financial fraud. Don’t worry, if you accidently visit the old website at capitalbankoftexas.com, you will be automatically redirected to the new website.

Will my online banking login change?

No! You will go to the bank’s new website at prime.bank and find the link to our online banking and log in with your existing credentials.

Will the way I make my loan payments change in any way?

No! You can continue to make your loan payments in the exact same way you have been making them.

Will the bank’s primary contact information change?

No! Phone numbers and mailing addresses will remain unchanged. See our website for locations and contact information.

What else do I need to know?
